Hostile Intent

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the rules for using the Hostile Intent website and our services. Our service is built to secure the authenticity of visual assets—we are the guarantor of cinematic integrity.

By using Hostile Intent, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree with them, please do not use the service.

1. Using Hostile Intent Safely

A. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use our Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or guardian has read and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

B. What You Must Do (Acceptable Use)

  • Respect Copyright: Do not violate anyone's intellectual property rights (no watermarking stolen work).
  • Be Truthful: You must provide accurate and complete information when you use the Service.
  • Keep it Legal: Use the Service only for lawful purposes.

C. What You Must Not Do (Prohibited Actions)

  • No Hacking: Do not try to access our systems without authorization, or interfere with our technology or the services provided by third-party login providers.
  • No Illegal Content: Do not upload or share material that is harmful, illegal, or promotes violence.
  • No False Claims: Do not falsely claim ownership over assets that are not yours.

2. Your Content and Data

A. Content Ownership (Your Rights)

You retain all ownership rights to the visual assets and any associated documentation you submit to the Service. Hostile Intent claims no ownership over your creative work.

B. Limited License to Use Content (The "Permission")

To make the Sentinel Mark and forensic tracing work, you grant Hostile Intent a limited, non-exclusive permission (a "license") to process, store, and digitally mark your assets. We only use this permission to provide the authentication and provenance services you requested. We never sell or claim ownership of your actual creative work.

C. Third-Party Services Disclaimer

We rely on other trusted companies for certain services (like secure login and hosting). We are not responsible for the actions, security, or failures of these third-party companies.

3. Legal Protection and Risks

A. Indemnity (Protecting the Company)

If you use the Service to do something illegal or harmful (like violating copyright) and this causes a lawsuit against Hostile Intent, you agree to defend us and pay for any legal fees and damages. This protects the company from legal trouble caused by a user's bad actions.

B. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability (Capping the Risk)

The Service is provided "as is." While we work hard to ensure the highest standards of provenance, we make no guarantees that the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

If we are found responsible for a mistake, our total liability (the maximum amount of money we could have to pay you) will be limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the last twelve months. This is a common rule for software companies to manage risk.

C. Dispute Resolution (Solving Problems Privately)

If we have a major disagreement that we can't solve by talking, we both agree that the problem will be resolved through binding arbitration (a private meeting with a neutral decision-maker) instead of going to a public courtroom. This is faster and less expensive for everyone.

4. Final Terms

A. Our Intellectual Property (Trademarks)

The names "Hostile Intent" and "Sentinel Mark," along with our logos, graphics, and other content related to the Service, are owned by Hostile Intent and are protected by trademark and copyright law. You do not have permission to use our trademarks without our written consent.

B. Termination

We can suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms, particularly if your actions are harmful or illegal.

C. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Hostile Intent is based.

D. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version here, and your continued use of the Service means you accept the changes.
